STATE TWO-MAN TOURNAMENT
HOLLY HILLS COUNTRY CLUB
AUGUST 16, 2010
Holly Hills hosted the tournament in grand style. A full field of 128 players enjoyed a Deli Lunch, grand day of competition, a cash bar followed by a gourmet dinner, prizes, awards and a 50/50. Ticket sales for 50/50 were helped by Amanda, she was the cute Young Lady who also drove the Beverage Cart and Lloyd Stimson.
With the stresses and strains placed by” mother nature”, Superintendent Mike Legere and his helpers had the course in great shape. We are most thankful for at least one previous rain.
Pro Mike Hauk did a magnificent job of having the golf organized, scoring, prize awards, and keeping the pro shop open for redemption. Think he lost a few pounds during the day. Our “Bag Boys” had us loaded and ready to go.
What mere words can describe Chef John Yancy and his staff’s presentation of the exquisite food served. The lobster tail was springing forth from its shell. My filet was perfect. Who ordered the wine? The dessert was to die for—a chocolate/raspberry mousse.
Elisabeth O’Connell, Food&Beverage Mgr., Michele Poulos, the Money person, and all the upstairs folks make it easy to host so many. Our servers are without peer and all smiles, as they do their appointed tasks. Plus they have a good sense of humor and are willing to go the extra mile to make the event fun for those present.
It is our General Manager, J.P. Lunn, who sets the stage and tone, for these interactions to proceed as smoothly as they do.
It was a pleasure to work with our new MISGA State Tournament Chairman, Lloyd Stimson. He is well organized and desires the best for MISGA. Also I want to thank Div. II Tournament Chair. Clarence Moody for his continued outstanding contribution to our Division.
To those I didn’t identify or mention by name, and to “ALL” at Holly Hills I wish to express my thanks and gratitude for your help and friendship in making this tournament a success. Errol Myers did the awards photos. This day is what MISGA is all about.
Now, none of this could or would have occurred if you had not chosen to play. Thank you for playing at Holly Hills and sharing the day with us. We look forward to your return visit.
